We stored that vegan cake in the freezer for months. Every day David would chip off a little piece and eat it. Finally, we moved to the UK and had to throw it out. I think it would have lasted until now if we’d kept it.

didn’t you use your wedding cake as an actual doorstop? No one wanted it on the way home and it really weighed a lot considering its size. It was almost as bad as when sandie made Thanksgiving bread. Wow. Nothing could absorb liquids, humidity, and life as fast and thoroughly as that brick could.
